Le Premier ministre isra\u00e9lien Benjamin Netanyahu a pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 vendredi une nouvelle carte effa\u00e7ant la Palestine, lors de son discours \u00e0 la 78e session de l’Assembl\u00e9e g\u00e9n\u00e9rale des Nations Unies (AGNU).<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

L’illustration montrait un \u00ab nouveau Moyen-Orient \u00bb dans lequel la Cisjordanie occup\u00e9e et la bande de Gaza semblaient faire partie d’Isra\u00ebl.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Une pr\u00e9c\u00e9dente carte erron\u00e9e pr\u00e9sent\u00e9e par Netanyahu incluait \u00e9galement les territoires palestiniens comme faisant partie d\u2019Isra\u00ebl en 1948.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Isra\u00ebl ne contr\u00f4lait pas la Cisjordanie, y compris J\u00e9rusalem-Est, ni la bande de Gaza apr\u00e8s sa cr\u00e9ation violente en 1948 sur 80 % de la Palestine historique. Il les a occup\u00e9s ill\u00e9galement en 1967 et continue de le faire dans le cadre de ce qui est consid\u00e9r\u00e9 comme la plus longue occupation de l’histoire moderne.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

L’inclusion de terres palestiniennes (et parfois de terres appartenant \u00e0 la Syrie et au Liban) dans les cartes isra\u00e9liennes est courante parmi les partisans du concept d’Eretz Yisrael<\/i> – le Grand Isra\u00ebl – un \u00e9l\u00e9ment cl\u00e9 du sionisme ultra-nationaliste qui pr\u00e9tend que toutes ces terres appartiennent \u00e0 un Etat sioniste.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Plus t\u00f4t cette ann\u00e9e, le ministre des Finances de Netanyahu, Bezalel Smotrich, s’est exprim\u00e9 depuis un podium orn\u00e9 d’une carte incluant \u00e9galement la Palestine, le Liban et la Syrie dans le cadre du \u00ab\u00a0Grand Isra\u00ebl\u00a0\u00bb. Lors du m\u00eame \u00e9v\u00e9nement, il a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 que \u00ab\u00a0les Palestiniens n’existent pas<\/i>\u00a0\u00bb.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Netanyahou pronon\u00e7ant son discours devant un auditoire r\u00e9duit \u00e0 ses quelques partisans.<\/p><\/div>\n

L’utilisation de telles cartes par les responsables isra\u00e9liens intervient \u00e0 un moment o\u00f9 le gouvernement ultranationaliste de Netanyahu a pris des mesures qui, selon les experts, \u00e9quivalent \u00e0 \u00ab l’annexion de jure<\/i> \u00bb de la Cisjordanie occup\u00e9e. De jure<\/i> est un terme juridique qui d\u00e9crit une pratique telle qu’elle est reconnue par la loi.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Lors de la pr\u00e9sentation de la carte vendredi, Netanyahu a encourag\u00e9 avec enthousiasme la refonte de la r\u00e9gion bas\u00e9e sur l\u2019\u00e9tablissement de liens avec les pays arabes, notamment l\u2019Arabie saoudite.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00ab\u00a0Cela ne fait aucun doute : les accords d’Abraham ont marqu\u00e9 l’aube d’une nouvelle \u00e8re de paix\u00a0<\/i>\u00bb, a-t-il affirm\u00e9. \u00ab\u00a0Je pense que nous sommes \u00e0 l’aube d’une avanc\u00e9e plus spectaculaire : une paix historique entre Isra\u00ebl et l’Arabie saoudite.\u00a0<\/i>\u00bb<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Ses remarques interviennent dans le cadre de pourparlers parrain\u00e9s par les \u00c9tats-Unis entre Isra\u00ebl et l’Arabie saoudite visant \u00e0 \u00e9tablir des relations formelles.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Cette semaine, le prince h\u00e9ritier saoudien Mohammed ben Salmane a laiss\u00e9 entendre qu’ils se rapprochaient \u00ab chaque jour<\/i> \u00bb d’un tel accord.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Lors d’un entretien avec Fox News<\/i>, le prince h\u00e9ritier a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 que \u00ab\u00a0la question palestinienne est tr\u00e8s importante\u00a0<\/i>\u00bb dans ces pourparlers, mais n’a pas donn\u00e9 plus de d\u00e9tails.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Lorsqu’on lui a demand\u00e9 quelles concessions il esp\u00e9rait qu’Isra\u00ebl accorde aux Palestiniens, il a r\u00e9pondu que cela faisait \u00ab partie de la n\u00e9gociation<\/i> \u00bb.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Netanyahu a soulign\u00e9 vendredi que \u00ab\u00a0nous ne devons pas donner aux Palestiniens un droit de veto sur les nouveaux trait\u00e9s de paix avec les Etats arabes.<\/i>\u00a0\u00bb<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Son discours intervient un jour apr\u00e8s que le pr\u00e9sident palestinien Mahmoud Abbas s’est adress\u00e9 \u00e0 l’AGNU, affirmant que la paix au Moyen-Orient ne serait pas r\u00e9alisable tant que les Palestiniens n’auraient pas obtenu tous leurs droits et un \u00c9tat.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00ab\u00a0Ceux qui pensent que la paix peut pr\u00e9valoir au Moyen-Orient sans que le peuple palestinien puisse jouir de tous ses droits l\u00e9gitimes et nationaux se trompent\u00a0<\/i>\u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Abbas.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
